O desperd\u00edcio aumenta os custos operacionais das empresas e impacta diretamente o bolso do consumidor, al\u00e9m de reduzir a disponibilidade de um recurso essencial, especialmente em per\u00edodos de estiagem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Segundo informa\u00e7\u00f5es da Copasa, o uso do sistema 4Fluid resultou em uma redu\u00e7\u00e3o de 14% nas perdas di\u00e1rias de \u00e1gua em 11 cidades mineiras, incluindo Bambu\u00ed, Curvelo, Janu\u00e1ria e Arax\u00e1, onde os resultados foram mais expressivos, com cerca de 50% de aproveitamento. O desempenho positivo incentivou a expans\u00e3o do projeto para outros munic\u00edpios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De acordo com a engenheira Mariana Neves Lima, respons\u00e1vel pela ger\u00eancia da Regi\u00e3o Metropolitana Leste da Copasa, s\u00e3o realizadas mais de 300 leituras di\u00e1rias, que alimentam o banco de dados da IA. \u201cQuanto maior a coleta, maior a precis\u00e3o do sistema\u201d, explica. O equipamento utilizado \u2014 um coletor de \u00e1udio acoplado a hastes \u2014 \u00e9 posicionado sobre os hidr\u00f4metros para captar ru\u00eddos da rede. Se a intelig\u00eancia artificial identifica uma press\u00e3o anormal, um alerta de poss\u00edvel vazamento \u00e9 emitido e as equipes conseguem atuar com mais agilidade e precis\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A intelig\u00eancia artificial da 4Fluid funciona em um modelo de aprendizado cont\u00ednuo. Por ser uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o recente, a IA precisa de constante treinamento para reduzir a margem de erro nas detec\u00e7\u00f5es. Em grandes centros urbanos, o desafio \u00e9 ainda maior: interfer\u00eancias sonoras externas podem ser interpretadas como vazamento, dificultando o trabalho das equipes em campo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O impacto social do projeto tamb\u00e9m foi enfatizado por docentes do curso de Biomedicina da PUC Minas. Para Juliana Resende, coordenadora do curso, a iniciativa n\u00e3o se limita ao uso de tecnologia, mas garante que um recurso essencial chegue de forma segura \u00e0 popula\u00e7\u00e3o, refor\u00e7ando o compromisso social do saneamento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> A professora de Microbiologia da PUC Minas, Lindi Lopes, destaca que a perda de \u00e1gua tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 uma quest\u00e3o de sa\u00fade p\u00fablica, j\u00e1 que a Biomedicina atua diretamente na preven\u00e7\u00e3o de riscos e na promo\u00e7\u00e3o da qualidade de vida. J\u00e1 a professora de Biotecnologia Cl\u00ednica, Deila Sabato, chama aten\u00e7\u00e3o para a dimens\u00e3o econ\u00f4mica: com a redu\u00e7\u00e3o de vazamentos, o consumidor deixa de pagar por uma \u00e1gua que nunca utilizou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Com os resultados iniciais positivos, a Copasa e a 4Fluid planejam expandir a tecnologia para novas regi\u00f5es em 2026, com meta de reduzir perdas em maior escala nas cidades atendidas. Al\u00e9m disso, h\u00e1 previs\u00e3o de integrar o sistema a outras ferramentas digitais de monitoramento, tornando a gest\u00e3o do saneamento mais eficiente e sustent\u00e1vel.
